The Fern Nursery

Is a small family run nursery in the Lincolnshire Wolds it has been grown from an enthusiasm over the last twenty years. The present owner/manager who still runs the nursery but with the continued help of his parents is R. Neil Timm. Neil began his gardening life at The Isle Of Ely College, Wisbech, and has worked in a number of gardens in Lincolnshire and beyond, including nearly twenty years as a landscape gardener and garden designer. The nursery grows almost all its own plants from its own stock plants which are displayed in the garden, visitors are welcomed to take a tour and see the whole process. We also give talks to garden and wildlife clubs etc., since we are always willing to tell people about what we think are the most interesting of all plants. Future hopes include expanding on the garden to make it a major visitor attraction, and developing the nurseries presence at shows, as we have only begun to venture into exhibiting at horticultural shows recently but have already begun to have some success.

Over the years we have supplied ferns to many well known gardens including York Cemetery, Nottingham Arboretum, Burghley House, and York Museum.

Silver Gilt Medal at the Harrogate Autumn Show 2006.

Gold Medal and Elsham Hall Cup for the best designed stand in show, at the Lincolnshire Agricultural Societies Show 2006.
